IRIOSH Research Series

IRIOSH Research Series

The IRIOSH Research Series is an open-access initiative designed to provide a credible, inclusive, and globally accessible platform for sharing research in occupational safety, health, and worker well-being.

As an emerging research institute, IRIOSH established this series to support the timely dissemination of high-quality research, policy insights, and applied studies, while fostering collaboration across disciplines and regions.

Purpose & Scope

The Research Series publishes a broad range of contributions, including:

  • Original research articles
  • Policy briefs and applied studies
  • Literature reviews and conceptual papers

Our focus spans global occupational safety and health challenges, including workplace risk prevention, mental health, safety culture, labor standards, and emerging hazards.

Open Access & Global Reach

All publications are made freely accessible, ensuring that knowledge can be shared without barriers. IRIOSH is committed to supporting researchers from diverse geographic, institutional, and professional backgrounds.

Ethical & Transparent Process

Submissions to the IRIOSH Research Series are evaluated through an editorial and review process grounded in academic integrity, relevance, and quality.
We maintain a commitment to:

  • Transparency in decision-making
  • Fair and unbiased evaluation
  • Ethical publishing practices

A Platform for Growth & Collaboration

The IRIOSH Research Series serves as a foundation for building a global research community, particularly for early-career researchers and contributors from underrepresented regions.

As IRIOSH continues to grow, this initiative will evolve into a more comprehensive research publishing platform aligned with international standards.

Get Involved

Researchers, practitioners, and institutions are invited to submit their work, collaborate on research initiatives, and contribute to advancing global occupational safety and health.

Open Access, Ethics & Publication Policy

Our Founding Vision

IRIOSH was established with a simple but powerful belief:

every worker, in every country, deserves safe, healthy, and dignified employment.

This institute seeks to address global disparities in occupational safety and health, strengthen evidence-based policymaking, and contribute to sustainable development worldwide.

With experience spanning academia, industry, and international research collaboration, IRIOSH operates with a commitment to integrity, scientific excellence, and global engagement.

IRIOSH exists to generate knowledge that protects people, empowers communities, and builds a safer, healthier, and more sustainable world.

Open Access & Public Policy

IRIOSH is committed to building a credible, inclusive, and globally accessible platform where researchers can share their work without financial or institutional barriers. As a non-profit research institute, we uphold ethical, transparent, and equitable publishing practices, ensuring that all submissions are evaluated solely on academic merit and integrity. To support open access while maintaining essential operational infrastructure, IRIOSH applies a minimal Article Processing Charge (APC).

Article Processing Charge (APC)

  • Standard APC: $50 USD per accepted article
  • Payment timing: Only after acceptance
  • Waivers: Available upon request

No author will be excluded from publication due to financial constraints.

This modest fee is used exclusively to support:

  • Platform maintenance and secure hosting
  • Editorial and peer-review coordination
  • Long-term development of an accessible research platform.

Our Commitment to Equity

IRIOSH recognizes that many established institutions are able to provide fully fee-free publishing through long-standing infrastructure and funding.

As an emerging research institute, IRIOSH is actively working toward achieving similar sustainability.

Our goal is to provide fully fee-free open-access publishing by 2030.

Commitment to Integrity

IRIOSH does not engage in pay-to-publish practices.

All submissions undergo appropriate editorial and review processes, and publication decisions are based solely on:

  • Quality
  • Relevance
  • Academic integrity

Expanding Global Access

IRIOSH remains firmly committed to:

  • Reducing barriers to knowledge sharing
  • Supporting researchers across all regions
  • Promoting equitable access to scientific publishing
