Global Summit Speakers - Singapore 2026

The welcoming remarks will formally welcome international participants to Singapore and recognize the importance of Canada–Singapore engagement, international knowledge exchange and global collaboration in advancing safer, healthier and more sustainable workplaces.

The remarks may also acknowledge the value of bringing together government, regulatory authorities, professional organizations, academia, researchers and industry through international occupational safety and health collaboration. 

The address is envisioned to provide a distinctive Saskatchewan–Singapore and Canada–Singapore perspective on international collaboration, innovation, knowledge exchange and institutional partnerships supporting sustainable economic development and the future of work. This presentation may also reflect on opportunities to strengthen connections across government, industry, research and innovation while recognizing the importance of people, workforce capability, safety and well-being in sustainable economic development 

 The address will provide a Canadian regulatory perspective on contemporary occupational health and safety leadership, prevention and the evolving responsibilities of regulatory systems in supporting safer and healthier workplaces. The presentation may consider the role of regulatory leadership, prevention, organizational responsibility and collaboration in responding to changing workplace risks and expectations 

This special community leadership reflection will connect occupational safety and health with the broader human and community dimensions of work. The reflection may consider how leadership, respect, fairness, worker voice, well-being, social responsibility and community values contribute to workplaces where people are not merely protected from harm but are valued and treated with dignity.

The address will also bring a distinctive community and municipal leadership perspective from Saskatchewan, Canada, to the international Summit 

This institutional welcome will introduce IRIOSH, its Canadian origins, research and knowledge-exchange mission, international development and purpose in convening the Singapore Summit.

The remarks will formally introduce the Summit theme:

“Advancing Safer, Healthier and More Dignified Workplaces in the Future of Work”

and establish the importance of connecting research, policy, regulatory leadership, professional practice, industry, technological innovation, worker well-being and dignity throughout the day's programme. The session will also provide an opportunity to acknowledge IRIOSH’s international partners, supporting organizations, invited speakers, researchers and participants

Forum Purpose

The IRIOSH Global Health & Safety Expert Round-Table Forum will provide a multidisciplinary international platform to examine how artificial intelligence, intelligent technologies, digital transformation and changing models of work may influence occupational safety and health.

The Forum intentionally brings together perspectives from regulators, academia, professional OSH organizations, worker well-being specialists, industry and high-risk work sectors to encourage balanced discussion of both opportunities and challenges associated with emerging technologies. The discussion will seek to balance technological innovation with professional competence, accountability, worker well-being, social responsibility, and social justice and dignity.  

The address will provide a regional and international perspective on advancing occupational safety and health through collaboration, professional leadership, knowledge exchange and shared commitment among OSH organizations across the Asia-Pacific region.

As Secretary General of APOSHO, Ir. Professor Dr. Vincent Ho’s address will highlight the importance of regional cooperation, professional development, institutional partnerships and collective action in addressing emerging workplace challenges and shaping the future of occupational safety and health.

The presentation will reinforce the importance of collaboration between regulators, professional organizations, academia, industry and research institutions in advancing safer, healthier and more sustainable workplaces throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The address is envisioned to provide an international professional OSH leadership perspective on how the profession can respond to rapidly changing workplaces while maintaining high standards of competence, ethics, leadership and professional responsibility. Drawing upon Dr. Lundy’s extensive experience across health and safety, fire risk management, building safety, the wider built environment, industry and academia.

The presentation will draw upon Mr. Barber’s experience in high-risk industry safety, working-at-heights safety, falls prevention, rescue readiness, safety leadership, human-centred design and the prevention of serious workplace injuries and fatalities. The session will explore how industry leadership, practical innovation and worker-centred approaches can contribute to reducing serious harm in high-risk work environments. 

The Special Plenary Address is envisioned as an opportunity to share a Malaysian national and regulatory perspective on the continuing advancement of occupational safety and health and its relevance to the wider regional and international OSH community.

Potential areas may include, with the presentation expected to align with the overall objectives, themes and international focus of the IRIOSH Global Occupational Safety, Health, and Worker Well-Being Summit 2026.
